Globally Trusted Food Safety and Quality Certification

What is SQF Training?

The integrity of the SQF Program relies on efficient, effective and competent implementation and auditing of SQF Systems. The SQF Institute has prepared guidelines on SQF Systems training covering the implementation and auditing of SQF systems. The training goals are:

  • to promote an understanding and awareness of food safety practices;
  • to provide an understanding of SQF System principles, activities and terminology;
  • to promote a common approach for the implementation and auditing of SQF Systems;
  • to share knowledge and practical experiences in applying SQF Program principles;
  • to impart the skills necessary so that food safety professionals can implement and audit an SQF System appropriately in order to provide safe, quality food; and
  • to ensure a consistent and effective approach to the implementation and auditing of an SQF System.

SQF Training is targeted at 2 specific areas; SQF Auditors and SQF Practitioners and Consultants.

Training for SQF Practitioners and Consultants consists of the 2 day course "Implementing SQF Systems" for SQF 1000 and / or SQF 2000. SQF Auditors must successfully complete the 3 day course "Auditing SQF Systems". Participants of both courses must successfully complete an online SQF exam in order to receive a certificate of attainment.

The training is delivered by Training Centers licensed by the SQF Institute, who will design and adapt the training to meet the particular needs of an industry sector. The satisfactory completion of HACCP training is a prerequisite for those planning to attend an SQF Systems Training Course.
