By Gigi Vita, Chief Food Safety Assessment Officer & Senior Vice President, FMI
The SQFI Team is pleased to welcome Carey Allen to lead the business development efforts for the SQF expanding food safety certification program. Carey joins the team as Vice President, SQFI Business Development and Strategy.
Carey is a long-time food safety professional and fills a vital role by building the SQF program awareness and focusing on SQF expansion to further bolster consumer and retailer food safety expectations. Carey has been involved with SQFI in her professional roles and has served in various volunteer roles including most recently on the SQF Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).
Carey will work closely with the SQF Community stakeholders and support the growing SQF services designed to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements for all sectors of the food supply chain.
We are thrilled to have Carey’s 20 years of experience bringing value to supply chain partners and consumers on the SQFI team. It’s an exciting time when SQF standards are in place in more than 11,000 certified sites and in more than 40 countries and six continents.
Carey’s previous experience as vice president of the food and agriculture division at SCS Global Services is very valuable as they are a strong SQF partner. Her leadership that led to the growth and expansion of the food safety, product claims, social compliance, and sustainable agriculture businesses by increasing market presence and advancing business capabilities through information technology and organizational design is invaluable. In addition, Carey also led global product certification and supply chain food safety at another vital SQF partner, NSF International. The experience of working with the global operating teams to increase efficiencies of scale and supporting technical leadership in regional markets will allow Carey to immediately work well with the SQF global business development team located in LATAM and APAC.
With her strong background in food manufacturing quality and product development, having worked for many years with leading brands, including Gorton’s Seafood and Kraft-Oscar Mayer Foods, Carey will quickly assist SQFI to expand services and innovate to help food manufacturers with food safety management.
Please help me provide Carey with a warm welcome to the SQFI team!
Send to welcome Carey!
